StudErn legal
Terms of Service
The rules for using StudErn - for applicants, recruiters, and companies alike.
Effective 31 July 2026
These terms govern your use of StudErn. By creating an account, you agree to them. This document was prepared for the StudErn pilot and has not been reviewed by a lawyer; if you’re relying on it for a commercial deployment, have it reviewed first.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a StudErn account — registration checks your date of birth and will not proceed otherwise. You must provide accurate information and keep it current. One person, one account: creating multiple accounts to work around platform limits (like the one free job posting per company) is not allowed and may result in all related accounts being suspended.
2. Accounts and security
- You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account.
- Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
- We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is compromised, being used fraudulently, or violating these terms.
3. For applicants
Your profile, resume, and application content must be honest. Misrepresenting your education, skills, or work history undermines the entire premise of the platform — evidence-based hiring only works if the evidence is real. A company you apply to can see your profile and application; you control what goes into that profile in the first place.
4. For recruiters and companies
- Job and internship postings must describe real, lawful work. No postings for anything illegal, no pyramid or multi-level-marketing recruitment, no postings that are actually advertisements for something else.
- Postings may not discriminate against applicants on grounds prohibited under applicable Bangladeshi labour law.
- Your first job posting is free; additional or subsequent postings may require payment — see the Refund Policy for how that’s handled.
- You may not use applicant data collected through StudErn for anything other than evaluating that applicant for the role they applied to. Scraping, exporting, or repurposing applicant profiles for unrelated recruiting or marketing is not permitted.
- A posting found to violate these terms may be suspended by a platform administrator. Suspension hides it from search and blocks new applications; it does not delete your posting or its existing applicant history.
5. Payments
Paid postings are processed through bKash. Prices are shown before you pay. See the Refund Policy for what happens if something goes wrong.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or any other technical control
- Upload malicious files, or attempt to exploit the platform through crafted uploads
- Scrape the platform at scale or use automated tools to create accounts or postings
- Impersonate another person or company
- Use the platform to send unsolicited messages outside its normal application/hiring flow
7. Content ownership
You own what you upload — your profile content, your resume, your company’s postings. By posting content on StudErn, you grant us the license needed to store, display, and process it for the purpose of operating the platform (for example, showing your profile to a company you applied to). That license ends when the content is deleted, subject to the Data Deletion Policy.
8. Termination
You can leave at any time by requesting account deletion — see the Data Deletion Policy for exactly what that means and when it takes effect. We may suspend or terminate an account for violating these terms, with notice where practical.
9. Disclaimers
StudErn is a platform connecting applicants and companies; we are not a party to any employment or engagement agreement formed between them, and we don’t guarantee the accuracy of a company’s postings or an applicant’s profile beyond the checks described in our matching system. The service is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law.
10. Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, we’ll update the effective date above. Continued use of StudErn after a change means you accept the updated terms.
